Swine Flu Suspected Case In Manchester UK

Swine Flu

There is yet another suspected case of Swine Flu in Manchester UK (Sale) this morning.  According to Sky News, who has reported the suspected case of Swine Flu, it seems that someone visiting the UK has been taken to hospital for tests after developing flu like symptoms.

The hospital that the visitor has been taken to for further tests to establish if this is the first confirmed case of Swine Flu in the UK has not yet been named.

**UPDATE**

The UK Health Secretary has confirmed that 25 people in Britain have been undergoing tests for Swine Flu.  Out of those 25, 8 have been returned negative and further tests are being carried out on the rest.

In Scotland yesterday, two other people where admitted to hospital after returning from Mexico.  At the moment it is thought that these two suspected cases of Swine Flu in the UK are NOT Swine Flu as the two people involved did not visit the infected areas of Mexico.

The woman who was visiting Sale in Manchester has been cleared of having Swine Flu and is making a good recovery.  There are now 5 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the UK with a 12 year old girl being amongst them.   Gordon Brown has told the UK people that we are well prepared for a pandemic of Swine Flu and he is increasing the stock piled numbers of anti viral drugs and also increasing the amount of face masks that the UK has for health personnel.
