At News Independent we are in the process of developing a members area that will hold an archive of DVD’s related to the stories that we produce on the main site. Though we want to offer the service as a paid subscription to cover the costs incurred, we also want regular readers to help us build it.
You can sign up for a free membership now and help us to build the community with like minded individuals. We are aware that there are lots of sites out there available for free and we also realise that these sites often experience lots of problems with spam and aggressive individuals who ruin the community for others.
At News Independent we want to build a huge community with a massive research and members contributed work which will help us get the most important information out to others. We also don’t want to see what happens in other forums where a few ruin it for the masses with unhelpful comments, aggressive or offensive comments or where we see a hijacking of posts by people pushing religion – in any form. It may well be thought of as a form of censorship – rules are needed in all aspects of life and an online community is no exception.
No one is forcing you to join and if you do you do it knowing what our rules are. The amount of moderation will always be kept to a minimum but it will be enforced.
